McLAREN RACING ANNOUNCES PARTNERSHIP WITH ABBVIE, LAUNCHING ‘ABBVIE RACE TO INNOVATE’ AT UNITED STATES GRAND PRIX

"We're proud to welcome AbbVie to McLaren Racing at such an exciting moment for our team, ahead of the United States Grand Prix"

Abbvie

McLaren Racing today announced a new partnership with global biopharmaceutical company AbbVie, who will join the McLaren Mastercard Formula 1 Team as an Official Pharmaceutical Partner, starting at the United States Grand Prix.

Bringing together two organisations united by a pursuit of progress and innovation, the partnership connects the industries of high-performance motorsport and cutting-edge science. McLaren Racing's legacy in motorsport and AbbVie's leadership in developing innovative medicines and solutions reflect a shared ambition to challenge convention, push the boundaries and drive meaningful impact both on and beyond the track. Although operating in different industries, both bring expert teams together to solve complex challenges and use precision and data to continually learn, refine and make improvements.

At the heart of the partnership is ‘AbbVie Race to Innovate’, a multi-year, purpose-driven campaign built on a shared belief that innovation is never finished, transforming on-track performance into real-world impact. Starting at the United States Grand Prix, every 10 Constructors’ Championship points scored by the McLaren Mastercard Formula 1 Team will unlock a $10,000 donation from AbbVie, reflecting approximately 10% of the global population impacted by autoimmune diseases. 1,2 Donations will support patient advocacy organisations around the world that provide education, resources and support for people living with immune-mediated diseases.

For nearly 30 years, AbbVie has helped advance innovation in immunology, delivering treatment options to people living with immune-mediated diseases, while McLaren Racing continues to push the boundaries of performance through engineering excellence, innovation and teamwork. Together, AbbVie and McLaren Racing will bring to life the stories behind innovation, celebrating the breakthroughs, dedication and human ingenuity required to drive progress in both medicine and motorsport.

Building on the program’s inaugural year, AbbVie will continue donating for the full 2027 season while storytelling and fan engagement efforts will further highlight the shared pursuit of progress at the heart of the partnership.

Matt Dennington, Co-Chief Commercial Officer, McLaren Racing, said:

“We’re proud to welcome AbbVie to McLaren Racing at such an exciting moment for our team, ahead of the United States Grand Prix. This partnership brings together two organisations that share a pursuit of progress, whether that’s pushing the limits of performance on track or advancing life-changing science off it. We’re looking forward to working with AbbVie to tell powerful stories about what it takes to drive progress, and to showcase the people and ideas behind it.”

Tracie Haas, Senior Vice President, Corporate Affairs, AbbVie, said:

“AbbVie and McLaren may operate in different industries, but both are driven by a mindset of continuous improvement and shared determination to solve complex challenges. As a leader in immunology for nearly three decades, AbbVie is pressing forward to drive innovation for patients. Through Race to Innovate, we’re proud to bring that commitment to a global stage with McLaren, turning every 10 points scored on the track into support for people living with immune-mediated diseases and the organizations that serve them.”
