Formula 1 has announced the 2027 calendar, featuring two returning fan favourites and an expanded 10-race Sprint calendar.
Beginning in Bahrain on 12-14 March, the 2027 season will comprise 24 Grands Prix in 22 countries. Pre-season testing will also take place at the Bahrain International Circuit, which is set to host the opening race for the first time since 2024, on 24–27 February.
The new calendar features 10 Sprint races, up from six in 2026, including the season finale in Abu Dhabi, upping the stakes if the title remains undecided when we head to the Yas Marina Circuit.
Half of the 10 Sprint venues will host F1’s shortened format for the first time, with Bahrain, Australia, Japan, Monaco, and Abu Dhabi joining five returning Sprint locations. Canada and Great Britain will hold Sprint events for the second successive season, while Italy, São Paulo and Qatar complete the list.
Two fan favourites will make a popular return to the calendar. The Portuguese Grand Prix at the Algarve International Circuit in Portimão and the Turkish Grand Prix at Istanbul Park are back on the schedule for the first time since 2021.
The Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix will not take place in 2027 as part of an agreement to rotate annually with the Belgian Grand Prix.
For the second successive season, the Monaco Grand Prix will move from its former May slot to 4-6 June, therefore avoiding a clash with the Indianapolis 500 and the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the other two events in motorsport’s Triple Crown.
