McLaren Racing supports a decision made through a collaborative process in the interests of sporting fairness
We welcome the decision of the FIA International Court of Appeal, a decision which provides important clarity for teams and all the sport’s stakeholders and helps protect the integrity of the sport and trust in its regulatory framework.
Our appeal was not directed at any competitor or at the FIA. It was brought, and pursued to its conclusion, in the interests of the sport and to support the consistent and fair application of the regulations for all participants.
We are grateful to Motorsport UK, Red Bull Racing and Visa Cash App Racing Bulls for the collaborative and professional manner in which they engaged throughout this process. All parties worked together in the interests of the sport to help provide clarity on matters of regulatory importance, reflecting a shared commitment to sporting fairness, consistency and the long-term integrity of Formula 1.
The presence of representatives from every Formula 1 team at the hearing underlined the broader importance of the questions considered, and their potential significance for the future interpretation and application of regulations across motorsport, extending beyond the FIA Formula One World Championship.
