McLAREN’s Constructors’ Championship win according to social media

Watch parties, champagne showers and chill champions: How fans reacted to the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix

Was it all a dream?

Many of you wouldn’t have even been born the last time we won the Constructors’ Championship in 1998, whilst even more of you wouldn’t have been old enough to remember it.

Whether you were around to witness our last title or not, you’ve remained incredibly patient and supported us through thick and thin. We’re still struggling to sum up how we feel following a remarkable 24 hours, so instead, we’ll let you do the honours. After all, this one was for you.

This is how you reacted to our Constructors’ Championship win on social media…

The cutest start to the weekend.

No nerves here… focused and looking forward.

Just a chill team.

What a start.

Unbelievable laps, exactly when we needed them the most.

Couldn’t have put it better ourselves.

Whatever happens, it’s been a season to remember.

Let’s GO.

As well as the fans watching the race in Abu Dhabi and from various locations around the world, there was a group of lucky McLaren Plus competition winners cheering us on from the McLaren Technology Centre.

Lando enjoyed a clean getaway when the lights went out but Oscar was hit by Verstappen at the first corner and dropped to the back of the field, putting papaya hearts across the world on edge.

Lando was punching in purple laps at the front of the pack, whilst Oscar was working his way back through the field, in the search of points.

Ten laps to go… Is anyone actually able to watch?

The longest 10 laps of our lives…

Speechless. A comeback 26 years in the making. We. ARE. CONSTRUCTORS’ CHAMPIONS.

More energy, more passion.

This ones for you.

Papaya and proud.

Sorry, we can’t get to the phone right now…

Andrea Stella celebration mode: unlocked.

Something like that…

Humbled. Thank you, Papaya Army. We cannot tell you what this means.

Keep the celebration shots coming, Papaya Army! We’ve still got some work to do over the next few weeks, but we’ll soon be switching off for a well-deserved break over the winter, before returning revitalised in January, ready and raring to go again. We hope you’ll be doing the same… We miss you already and can’t wait to see you again next season.
