F1 Academy reveals three new locations as part of a new-look seven round calendar for 2025

McLaren’s second season in F1 Academy will begin in China, with the all-female series revealing a new-look calendar for 2025, featuring three new locations.

The revamped schedule spans seven rounds and 14 races across three continents - Asia, Europe, and North America - all in support of the Formula 1 World Championship.

F1 Academy will head to Shanghai for the first time for its season opener on 21-23 March, before returning to Saudi Arabia (18-20 April) and Miami (2-4 May). In Round 4, the series will make its debut at the Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve in Canada on 13-15 June, it’s final round before F1’s summer break. It will then resume in Zandvoort, Netherlands on 29-31 August.

The penultimate round will take place in Singapore on 3-5 October before the series concludes by making its debut in Las Vegas. The seven-round campaign will be supported by a yet-to-be-announced 15-day testing programme.

Ella Lloyd will represent McLaren in F1 Academy for 2025, driving for Rodin Motorsport. The 19 year old from Wales made her F1 Academy debut as the Wild Card entry in Singapore in September, finishing in the points in both races. She was then announced as the newest member of the McLaren Driver Development programme in October, just a few weeks later.

Ella will replace fellow Development Driver Bianca Bustamante, who has competed for McLaren in F1 Academy this year with ART Grand Prix. The Filipina, in her second season of F1 Academy, has scored one podium so far this season and sits seventh in the standings, with two rounds remaining.

The final two rounds of the 2024 F1 Academy season will take place in Qatar (29 November-1 December) and Abu Dhabi (6-8 December).
