Find out what F1 race you voted as your favourite of all time for McLaren
We hope you’ve enjoyed voting for our greatest Grand Prix over the last two weeks, and we’re delighted to announce that we have a winner. Drum roll, please...
In a tightly fought final, your votes mean that Lando’s 2025 British Grand Prix triumph at Silverstone came out on top in a battle of the home Grands Prix wins, beating off stiff competition from Ayrton Senna’s 1991 victory at Interlagos in that year’s Brazilian Grand Prix. Winning with 54% of the vote, the Papaya Family has officially decided that the 2025 British Grand Prix is their favourite McLaren F1 race of all time.

We drew up a shortlist of 20 Formula 1 Grands Prix for you to choose from, which we split into two semi-finals for McLaren Racing Club members to vote on.
In the first semi-final, Ayrton’s 1991 Brazilian Grand Prix victory topped the poll with 25% of the vote. His 1993 European Grand Prix triumph followed with 19%, while his 1988 Japanese Grand Prix win secured 16%. McLaren’s first-ever Formula 1 victory, delivered by founder Bruce McLaren, finished fourth with 12%, while Alain Prost’s 1986 Australian Grand Prix victory rounded out the top five with 5%.
In the second semi-final, Lando’s home win at the 2025 British Grand Prix stormed to victory with 45% of the vote, ahead of Oscar’s 2024 Azerbaijan Grand Prix victory with 15%. Jenson Button’s Canadian Grand Prix triumph finished third with 12%, ahead of Daniel Ricciardo’s 2021 win and Lewis Hamilton’s 2008 British Grand Prix victory, which were tied on 6%.
Described by Lando at the time as the best win of his career, the Glastonbury-born racer’s home Grand Prix victory was an emotional occasion, and a pivotal moment in his eventual Drivers’ World Championship.
It had been 17 years since our last victory on home soil, and Lando had come close in both of the previous seasons, with podiums in 2023 and 2024. Starting from third in wet conditions, Lando wouldn’t have an easy route to victory, but gained second when Max Verstappen spun, before benefiting from a mid-race penalty for Oscar to move into first. From there, Lando and Oscar build up an unassailable lead, claiming out first 1-2 at Silverstone since David Coulthard and Mika Häkkinen in the 2000 British Grand Prix.

Becoming only the 13th British driver to have won their home race, Lando achieved this dream in front of his own ‘Landostand’, 17 years on from watching Lewis Hamilton win for McLaren at Silverstone, his earliest memory of watching the sport on TV.
Thanks for taking part!
