"A good final day of testing today in Monza with the TPC Team"

The McLaren Mastercard Formula 1 Team finished their fourth Testing of Previous Cars (TPC) event in the MCL60, with Test & Development driver, Will Stevens taking to track on day two.
Will Stevens and the MCL60 returned for a second day of running in Monza following yesterday’s successful day at the Temple of Speed where he completed 28 laps (161 km) alongside Leonardo Fornaroli’s 36 laps (207 km).
Today’s running saw the Testing of Previous Cars (TPC) team complete 50 laps (287 km) around the Autodromo Nazionale Monza, bringing the overall distance covered over the two days to 655 km.
The run plan the team set out for the day explored the car in different conditions, providing more reference points for Will’s simulator work at the McLaren Factory. As one of the Test & Development Drivers for the McLaren Mastercard Formula 1 Team, Will’s time in the physical car on track is beneficial.
The TPC programme runs extensive tests throughout the year, with the focus on giving development drivers time in an F1 car. It also gives team members valuable experiences working in a Formula 1 trackside environment as part of their training and development. There are also a number of experienced team members at the test who can play important roles as mentors.
“A good final day of testing today in Monza with the TPC Team. I’ve made the most of the run plan that was set out for me. We tried a few different setups, which are all helpful reference points for me. Driving an F1 car is always a great opportunity, so thank you to the team for getting me in the MCL60 again.”
