The Canadian Grand Prix according to social

Drivers made of sugar, Zak’s fresh ink, and a whole lot of rain: The best of social from Montréal

Canada always provides the craziest races – see Jenson Button’s win in 2011 - and this weekend didn’t disappoint as weather and Safety Cars sparked several different strategies and some tight calls across the pit lane.

Given our recent history in Canada – going into this weekend, we hadn’t scored a point in Montréal since 2014 – we were glad to be fighting at the front, even if Lando did end up on the wrong side of a Safety Car period. But another podium and a haul of 28 points means we left with Canada with a smile on our faces for the first time in a while.

Amongst the most enjoyable races of the season so far, the Canadian Grand Prix gave you plenty to talk about on X, and we’ve captured the best of it in our social media wrap-up...

Oh, nm, just some racin’.

All we’re saying, is we’re glad he’s good at racing.

Excuse me team, hi, hello, what is happening here?!

I thought we agreed to talk about decisions before we made them? We had an ink-ling something was going on when they snuck off together on Thursday. 🖊️

At least we can take our minds off their inking escapades by looking forward to a sunny practice session… Wait, what? ☔

We’ve got a working theory that the reason they’re so sweet is because they’re made of sugar.

Sounds like a reasonable request.

Certain team members still aren’t talking to each other after the Wild Draw 4 card was pulled last time.

Consistency is key. Lando, Oscar and the team giving us plenty to race for.

Thanks for your support, Papaya Army!

A solid start in slippery conditions.

It had been a steady start to the race from the whole grid, but Lando switched on the style 20 laps in to take P2.

However, he didn’t last long there… As he overtook Russell for the lead.

A poorly timed Safety Car robbed Lando of the lead, though.

Oscar was defending from Russell like crazy, but he was unable to hold the Mercedes off.

With Lando retaining second at the flag, that’s now five McLaren podiums in a row.

Fought all the way to the flag. Oscar left it all out on track. 👊

Has a Sunday really happened if Lando hasn’t done his signature champagne spike?

Seeing as you asked so nicely…

Heading back to base with more silverware… 🏆

And another huge haul of points.

We hope you had the most amazing time, @4piastri!

What a wild race. Time to recover, reset and debrief back in Woking before we return to Europe with the Spanish Grand Prix.
