The Las Vegas Grand Prix according to social media

A flying MCL60, a Jack Daniel’s road trip, and an early alarm: Las Vegas’ best tweets

On and off track, the Las Vegas Grand Prix was one for the ages. Not only did the weekend live up to its billing as the most extravagant event of the year, the race delivered an action-packed wheel-to-wheel battle from lights to flag.

A spectacular LED light show wowed and amazed, the sphere kept fans entertained all weekend long, and, from David Beckham and Brad Pitt to Shaquille O'Neal and Paris Hilton, the stars showed up to sprinkle some celebrity stardust across the circuit. Ahead of the race, the MCL60 even took a trip through the skies over the Las Vegas Strip.

And although Lando’s race sadly ended prematurely following a crash, Oscar put on a thrilling performance as he charged from 18th to 10th. Here's what social media made of the very first Las Vegas Grand Prix…

Lando wasn’t the only one celebrating a birthday around the Las Vegas Grand Prix.

After 18 months of build-up, we finally arrived in Las Vegas, but not before Lando and Oscar had been on an epic road trip with Jack Daniels.

We saw a whole lot of love for our Las Vegas collection. Show us how you styled your Vegas merch using #FansLikeNoOther.

Come fly with me, let’s fly, let’s fly away.

Thursday nights done right.

Thank you, we try our best!

On the app is the only way to enjoy the sessions properly.

It is! Just like a bear hug from Zak Brown.

Qualifying didn’t go to plan as we suffered our first double-Q1 exit since the Miami Grand Prix, but you knew just what we needed.

Thanks for always having our back, Papaya Army.

With the race starting at 10pm in Las Vegas, this required an early start for many of our fans, but you wouldn’t miss it for the world, would you, team?

Supporting us in style with our friends at Hilton.

Rivals on track, friends off it.

The fast and the fabulous gets our vote.

Can’t keep them apart.

Lando suffered a tough and premature end to his first Las Vegas Grand Prix, but we’re thankful that he was okay after a nasty crash in the early stages.

Oscar was the only McLaren left on track after the Safety Car period and he made a rapid start, climbing nine places from his starting position of 18th.

As fast off the track as we are on it…

Lando got the all clear after the race and we were glad to see him return to the team.

That’s the spirit!

Who needs to go to Disneyland when you can enjoy a rollercoaster of a race in Las Vegas.

Twenty-one down, one to go…

And finally, some Monday motivation for our fans.
