F1 have said that the decision has been taken in full consultation with the FIA and the respective promoters
Formula 1 have confirmed that the Bahrain and Saudi Arabian Grands Prix will no longer take place in April due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East region. Round 4 of the 2026 season in Bahrain was scheduled for 10 - 12 April, followed by the race in Saudi Arabia the weekend after. The Formula 2, Formula 3 and F1 Academy rounds will also not take place during their scheduled times.
“We’re fully supportive of Formula 1’s decision to not go ahead in April with the races in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia. The safety of teams, fans and everyone involved in hosting a race weekend must come first, so it’s absolutely the right call. I want to thank the Crown Prince and our shareholders for their incredible support over the past few weeks, and our thoughts are with those directly affected by the conflict.” There will now be a five-week gap in the calendar between the Japanese Grand Prix on 27–29 March and the Miami Grand Prix on 01 – 03 May.
