The Belgian Grand Prix according to social

Crystal balls, settling a wager, and a lot of rain: The best of social from Spa

Third place - *ehh hmm*, sorry.... Second place and 28 points. After another jam-packed weekend of racing, we depart Belgium and head into the summer break on a high, on the back of our most memorable, euphoric opening half of a season in more than a decade.

In many ways, our start to the year has exceeded all expectations, but at the same time, it’s exactly where our talented, hard-working team deserves to be, and precisely the type of success the Papaya Army should be enjoying.

Before we take in the summer break, our staff will head back to the McLaren Technology Centre, drop off their team kits and spend some time celebrating our haul of two poles, two wins and a further 10 podiums together. They’ll then head off on their holidays, whether that be lounging in the sun, at home with the family or out on the slopes.

While we wait for their triumphant return, we’ve gone back through this weekend’s coverage of the race on social media and compiled our favourite posts. Here’s the weekend according to you…

Sadly, we’re yet to invent self-cleaning McLaren merch, but when we do…

See you there, @gamsmits! 👋

Speaking from the future, we can confirm the waterproofs will come in handy. 🔮

We’ve all thought about it…

OMG, it’s F1 Grand Prix winner Oscar Piastri!

Belgian GP, LET’S GO.

Nothing to see here, jus’ two F1 Grand Prix race winners chatting over breakfast.

Treat yourself, you’ve earned it. 🧇

One big papaya family.

This deserves to be printed and framed.

Might be too wet. 🌧️

Petition to get it into the Olympics.

Thanks for your support, Papaya Army! 🧡

It would be... So long as it didn't get rained off.

Making light work of Q1 and Q2.

Solid results in tough conditions. All to race for. 👊

They just love starting side by side. Lando and Oscar are inseparable.

Wind, rain, or shine, you’re there – and there was a lot of rain on Saturday!

For one final time before the summer break… It’s RACE DAY.

Zak honoured his bet with Oscar in his own unique way! 🤝

The moment we’ve all been waiting for.

Pushing hard from start to finish! 💪

Giving it all he’s got.

What @snoozie_v said.

So close. 🤏 Another couple laps and Oscar may have got the Mercedes.

Plenty of points for the championship battle!

A fellow time traveller, we see! Stay patient, @ExileftNini, it’s coming…

… As promised above.

Sadly, Oscar was already on his way home. Don’t worry, we’ll deliver him the trophy when he returns to the McLaren Technology Centre this week.

Get some rest, MCL38, you've earned it. 😴 We'll see you in a few weeks...
