The Azerbaijan Grand Prix according to social

History-books rewritten and overtakes galore: The best of social from Baku

They say that nothing in life comes easy, and that was certainly true of the Azerbaijan Grand Prix. It required an 11-place charge through the field from Lando and one of this season’s best overtakes from Oscar, who referred to his second victory as “probably the most stressful afternoon of my life".

But the stress was all worth it as we leapt to first place in the Constructors’ Championship for the first time in a decade, having outscored our rivals for the fourth time in five races. As we catch our breath before this weekend’s Singapore Grand Prix, here’s what social media made of the Azerbaijan Grand Prix...

With an eight-point gap to breach ahead of this double header, we had our sights firmly set on first place.

If you're looking for your new autum look, this is it, accessories and all. We love it, @JaniceZhao.

Lando suffered a tough Q1 exit in Qualifying on Saturday due to a Yellow Flag, but we could sense another Mexico City-style overtaking masterclass was coming.

Oscar, meanwhile, managed to maintain his 100% record of making Q3 this season and finished a strong second to secure his fifth front row start in F1.

Simple, but effective.

Happy race day, Papaya Army!

Full send mode 🔛. A strong start to the race from both sides of the grid put us on the front foot.

The overtakes just kept on coming for Lando…

... The race wasn't just a stressful one for Oscar, but for us in the garage trying to keep up with all of the action on track. 🤳

While Lando was flying through the field, Oscar had just one position in his sights… and no one was getting in his way, as he snatched it with a stunning overtake.

Twenty two laps down, 11 positions gained. F1 at its finest.

The final laps were spent preparing our lungs to sing this at full pelt after the Chequered Flag. 📣

What a drive and what a win.

A man of his word.

A drive for the history books.

Speaking of history books. 📚

This team. 🧡

This is only just the start, the real work begins now. We keep pushing. 👊

It wasn’t all plain sailing, though… Right, Oscar? 😅

Time to steady ourselves as we prepare for the second race of this vital double-header. We’ll see you all in Singapore.
