McLAREN Racing announces partnership extension with Google
"The introduction of Gemini marks an exciting next step"

McLaren Racing has announced an extension of its partnership with Google, which will see Gemini, Google’s helpful AI assistant, placed at the heart of its collaboration with the McLaren Formula 1 Team.
McLaren will use Gemini to strengthen its use of AI to unlock new levels of performance and creative design, to help the team maximise fan engagement, work smarter and faster, and uncover new ways to give the team a competitive advantage on race day.
Across the Las Vegas weekend, Google will be showcasing Gemini’s creative power through a dynamic creative on the Sphere. The installation will feature the McLaren Formula 1 car, transformed in real time into a variety of visual styles - from an oil painting to a technical drawing - immersing fans in a 360-degree world.
The extension will see Google remain as an Official Primary Partner of the McLaren Formula 1 Team. It will build on Gemini’s successful debut with the McLaren Formula 1 Team last month at the United States GP, where a Gemini livery enhancement was featured on the team’s cars and racing suits, and the team used Gemini’s image tools to inspire Oscar Piastri’s custom helmet.

Alongside Gemini, several other Google products will continue to power performance for the McLaren Formula 1 Team. Pixel and Google Health Devices continue to keep the team connected on the go while enhancing communication and performance. Android devices play a key role in capturing and analysing pit stop performance, helping the team to continuously enhance operations. Together with Chrome delivering speed and reliability, and Google Cloud powering data-driven insights, these technologies drive performance across every area of the team.
Zak Brown, CEO, McLaren Racing, said:
“Our partnership with Google has always been built on shared values of innovation and performance. The introduction of Gemini marks an exciting next step, helping us continually explore how AI can support our team both on and off the track. Google are an incredible partner and we look forward to continuing to push for innovation and excellence alongside them.”
Nick Drake, Global Vice President of Marketing, Google, said:
“F1 is defined by rapid innovation, so we’re thrilled to place Gemini at the center of our renewed partnership. We’re integrating our AI assistant into multiple aspects of the team’s workflow - giving engineers, drivers, and staff a powerful new tool to accelerate productivity and optimise performance across the team - while also bringing fans closer to the action than ever before."
