The Singapore Grand Prix according to social media

Karaoke, questionable shirts and ice baths: Singapore’s best tweets

After a 62-lap slog of the Marina Bay Street Circuit in excruciatingly hot and humid conditions, withstanding intense pressure from two Mercedes on fresher, faster tyres, there is no better taste than champagne.

The unbridled joy - and relief - on Lando’s face as he squeezed his teammates in the aftermath of his Singapore Grand Prix podium spoke a thousand words. Rarely has a podium felt so well-earned.

Whilst we’d be hesitant to relive the nervousness that came with the end of the race, we were only too happy to go back over your posts on social media. From Lando’s podium to Oscar’s incredible 10-place charge through the field, here are our favourite tweets from the Singapore Grand Prix.

Keep the stealth mode looks coming.

You’re welcome, @RichC_McLaren1, keep the content coming! Don’t forget to carry on using #FansLikeNoOther to feature on our channels.

Couldn’t agree more, @Jengo37. @Leighlarlar has produced some incredible designs throughout the season.

Swiftly followed by an encore of Wonderwall.

That’s a, err, unique shirt…

Not a hand down in the house.

We do be going vroom.

Qualifying was tough on Oscar, as he missed out on Q2 after his final Q1 lap was spoiled by a Red Flag following Lance Stroll's crash. Thankfully, the Aston Martin driver was able to walk away unaided.

In the other McLaren, Lando secured an incredible 10th successive Q3 appearance with fourth place in Singapore qualifying.

Race day ready.

The happiest drivers there ever did be.

The weekend's coolest content.

It was an exciting start to the race, with Lando battling Hamilton for fourth, and Oscar barging through the field from 17th to 14th, before things settled down.

And then, the inevitable Safety Car happened. Queue chaos…

Our hearts were in our throats in the closing laps as Oscar continued his ascent up the order and Lando fought it out with Sainz, Russell and Hamilton for victory, with only 2.5s separating the top four.

Just the 10 places gained for Oscar on his first appearance at the Marina Bay Street Circuit. No big deal…

We need to start creating chocolate trophies for Lando, as all of ours have bite marks in now.

If you did, we owe you one, @kellygro5114!

Never let anyone tell you that manifesting doesn’t work.

We reckon it is a sign... See you this weekend in Suzuka for the Japanese Grand Prix, we hope…
