The Qatar Grand Prix according to social media

Skincare secrets, pre-race playlists and a good lie down: Qatar’s best tweets

There’s nothing like a good recovery story to get social media talking.

Starting from sixth and 10th, respectively, Oscar and Lando had it all to do in the Qatar Grand Prix, having seen their lap times deleted for track infringements in Friday’s qualifying session. A repeat of Japan’s double podium looked unlikely, and yet, our team walked out of the paddock gates on Sunday night with a massive grin on their faces and one very welcome worry: would we need to upgrade our luggage capacity?

Four trophies, 47 points, and thousands of tweets to keep us busy on a very happy Monday morning. From start to finish, here’s what you made of the Qatar Grand Prix.

Your psychic powers know no bounds…

Oi oi oi.

We normally love a Friday qualifying session, but track limits spoiled the fun, as Lando and Oscar saw their final laps in Q3 deleted, demoting them from second and fourth, respectively, to sixth and 10th.

We all knew which meme was coming...

But you all knew we’d bounce back.

And at least Oscar saw the funny side of it, after learning of his penalty during a live interview.

We recovered in style on Saturday morning as Oscar qualified on pole for the Sprint.

Papaya front row lockout baby.

Good to see that no one was bitter about Friday…

We’ve finally found a good use for this meme.

Starting on Mediums, whilst many around them were on Softs, Oscar and Lando briefly dropped back at the start of the Sprint, but fought their way through the field once their tyres were up to temperature.

We’re not crying, you are.

Beyond proud of the entire team.

Oscar Piastri, rookie race winner, F1 sheriff.

A sensational job from both sides of the garage.

Well, we had to get even, didn’t we? Making up for Friday in style.

The perfect celebratory snack doesn't exis...

Eminem’s a good shout, but we reckon it’s Taylor Swift they're listening to.

Saturday was the perfect appetizer for Sunday's cooking.

After such a successful Saturday, we were hoping that Sunday would go just as swimmingly.

We certainly weren’t going to get cold feet before the race. Another podium would be the icing on the cake.

Starting from sixth and 10th, respectively, Oscar and Lando enjoyed tremendous launches off the line, flying to second and sixth.

There was no stopping them… Their lightning start set them up perfectly for a heroic journey to the podium.

Drivers or chefs?

We couldn’t keep our eyes off the Qatar Grand Prix, and yet we still nearly missed this pit-stop.

Top skincare secret: Double podiums work better than moisturiser.

We couldn’t love them anymore.

500 (and 501) and counting… Thanks for contributing 26 of those, Jenson!

Right, now it’s time to catch up on some sleep. See you all in Austin!
