"Overall, this weekend was a definite step forward"
Silverstone Circuit, Sunday, 5 July
Find out what happened in Great Britain at the Silverstone Circuit, and get the thoughts of drivers Ella Lloyd and Ella Stevens.
In Saturday’s Reverse Grid Race, Ella Lloyd secured a podium finish for the McLaren F1 Academy entry, converting her P3 starting position into P3 at the Chequered Flag. Meanwhile, McLaren Oxagon’s Ella Stevens finished P14 after starting from P11.
In Sunday’s Feature Race, Ella Lloyd made a good start, but crossed the line in P5 following contact. Ella Stevens had an unfortunate DNF after a collision from another driver caused her to retire from her home race.

“Overall, this weekend was a definite step forward. We made a clear improvement in Qualifying which set us up for a positive first race, and it was great to come away with a podium. We proved we have the initial pace, which is a huge positive to build on.
“The second race was frustrating. We had another fantastic start and were running strong in third before contact pushed me off track and ended our chance of another top result. After that, it was impossible to make any moves in the train, but we will regroup and focus on converting our pace into two strong results next time out.”

“I’m thrilled to have experienced the British Grand Prix weekend for the first time. The atmosphere was incredible and being part of it was really special. We started strongly with P5 in practice, which I was pleased with, but Qualifying didn’t go to plan. We’ve already sat down with the team, aligned on a different approach, and that will be my main focus heading into the next round.
“Results weren’t what I wanted, with an off in the first race and then being hit in race two, which was out of my hands. There’s still a lot of positives to take, and plenty to learn heading into Zandvoort. We’ve got a test in two weeks, and I’m eager to get back in the car, use the short break to reset, and come back stronger.”
