"We’ll focus on preparing for Silverstone now, where we hope to make another step forward"
Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, Sunday, 24 May
Find out what happened in Canada at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, and get the thoughts of drivers Ella Lloyd and Ella Stevens.
It was a tricky weekend for Ella Lloyd and Ella Stevens. Today’s Feature Race saw Lloyd overtake well, finishing in P9 having started in P16. For Stevens, she crossed the line in P12 after starting in P14. In British F4, Dries Van Langendonck finished on the podium again after crossing the line in P3 in Race 2, followed by a P7 finish in Race 3. Christian Costoya had a tough weekend after an on-track incident caused him to retire from the race, meaning he was unable to progress to the final.

“Overall, it was a tricker weekend for me. In Free Practice, we had an issue which limited laps and track familiarisation. In Qualifying, unfortunately I hit the wall early on which caused a mechanical failure which ended our session. This was a shame as the car had good potential and I had the pace to be much further forward.
“Throughout the three races, I felt confident and decisive in my overtakes, which meant we made up places in all of them. The car felt good, and our pace was encouraging, which helped show our true potential.
“I struggled more in the Feature Race today as the wet but drying track made conditions more difficult. Overall lots of learnings to take, but I look forward to our next races at Silverstone.”

"This weekend was another step forward for us. The preparation in the simulator paid off in Practice, and that carried through to the races where we had strong pace. Scoring my first points of the championship in the Opening Race was a massive high and easily my strongest performance so far. It proves we have the speed to compete and move forwards, and my confidence behind the wheel is growing with every session.
"Of course, I'm not entirely happy because the final results don't fully show the progress we've made. Qualifying in P14 was disappointing, and the penalty in Race Two stopped us from being able to show our true potential. Despite a stall in Race Three, we fought back to gain six places, which again showed our underlying pace.
We know where we need to improve, but we're leaving this weekend feeling positive. With every lap my race craft is getting stronger and we're on the right path, I just need to make sure I'm making the most of my time on track. We’ll focus on preparing for Silverstone now, where we hope to make another step forward."
