2026 Arrow McLaren IMS Road Course Friday Report

A busy day of NTT INDYCAR SERIES action at the IMS Road Course was cut short on Friday after two Practice sessions. Evening rain forced series officials to postpone Qualifying until Saturday morning.

After logging valuable track time in Practice on Friday, Pato, Nolan and Christian will look to maximize their pace in Qualifying on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. ET before the 85-lap race on FOX at 4:30 p.m. ET.

Christian Lundgaard, Driver, No. 7 VELO Arrow McLaren Chevrolet

"It was a shorter day than expected. We struggled a bit in P1 but found some things in P2. I think we have a better chance qualifying in the dry weather, and now that's obviously going to be tomorrow morning. I think we have a decent car. The race is long. I'm proud of the work the team has put in especially to evolve the 7 car from last year to this year. We'll just keep that train going tomorrow."

Nolan Siegel, Driver, No. 6 VELO Arrow McLaren Chevrolet

"We made a lot of progress today in the Practice sessions. At Practice 1, we were all a little concerned, and then by the end of Practice 2, we were quite happy on the 6. Still things to improve, but pace-wise we’re almost right there with where we need to be. So, a dry Qualifying tomorrow morning could be very good. We can be very competitive if we make a couple good steps overnight, and that’s going to be our plan."

Pato O'Ward, Driver, No. 5 Arrow McLaren Chevrolet

"It's been a challenging day today. I was really excited to qualify in the rain, in the perfect rain. We rarely get rain like this, so I was really looking forward to this session that unfortunately got postponed. So now we go tomorrow, in no rain. We'll just need to make the best of it. We can only go forward from here, so we're ready to make tomorrow a really good day."
