The McLaren Hypercar Team’s debut season will comprise nine rounds in nine different countries
The McLaren Hypercar Team have learned where they'll be heading in their first full World Endurance Championship season following confirmation of the complete 2027 calendar.
There will be some familiar locations for fans of our Formula 1 team, including Spa-Francorchamps, Imola, São Paulo and Austin. The series will also be returning to Silverstone for the first time in eight years.
Our maiden WEC campaign will begin at the Lusail International Circuit with the 1812km of Qatar on 27 March, followed by the 6 Hours of Imola on 11 April. Our first home race in WEC will then take place on 25 April with the 6 Hours of Silverstone.
The 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps will serve as the final race before the series’ landmark event, the 24 Hours of Le Mans, on 12-13 June at the Circuit de la Sarthe, marking McLaren’s return to the top class at Le Mans for the first time since 1995.
The second half of the season will see us visit the Americas and Asia, starting with the 6 Hours of São Paulo at the Autódromo José Carlos Pace, a favourite among the Papaya Family, on 11 July.
Austin's Circuit of the Americas will host the Lone Star Le Mans on 12 September, followed by the campaign's penultimate event, the 6 Hours of Fuji, on 26 September. We'll then wrap up the season with our second home race, the 8 Hours of Bahrain.

McLaren have so far announced two of our 2027 drivers, Mikkel Jensen and Laurens Vanthoor. Mikkel is a European Le Mans Series LMP3 and IMSA LMP2 Champion, while Laurens was the 2024 World Endurance Hypercar Champion and won the 2018 24 Hours of Le Mans in the LMGTE Pro class. He also finished second overall last year and has additional GTLM and GTD titles in IMSA.
Preparations for the 2027 season are already underway, with a comprehensive testing programme in place for the MCL-HY FIA Hypercar, developed in collaboration between McLaren Racing and McLaren Automotive. The car completed its first runs in May and will continue an extensive schedule ahead of homologation this winter. Mikkel and Laurens will be supported by McLaren Driver Development Programme (DDP) drivers Grégoire Saucy and Richard Verschoor, as well as United Autosports driver Ben Hanley.
