We know plenty of you would love the chance to sit opposite Oscar, a nice pastry in one hand and a warm mug of coffee in the other, and get to know him better over a speed date. So, grab a flat white and treat yourself to a croissant, and allow us to put you in that scenario.

To help you get to know our newest driver a little better, we asked him a series of classic quickfire questions in Bahrain, from the weirdest food he’s eaten to the animal he would choose to be. Here’s what he had to say…

Who is your inspiration? 

I don't have one person for inspiration in particular. Instead, I have a few racing drivers and other sports people, and I try to take inspiration from them in many areas. 

If you could be any animal, what would you be?

A dog, as you would get lots of love and attention all the time. 

What is the weirdest thing you've ever eaten?

I have eaten jellyfish before. That was an experience...

If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Pasta because you can have so many subtle variations. Plus, pasta is just good stuff. 

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you choose?

Somewhere in Australia, the best country in the world. 

What is your favourite TV show?

The Big Bang Theory.

What is your favourite film?

The Gentleman. 

Winter or summer? 

Summer.

Are you a day or a night owl?

I’m a night owl.

What was your worst subject in school? 

Religious studies. 

What was your best subject in school? 

Maths or physics.

What advice would you give to your younger self? 

A very good question. I would tell him to believe in himself a bit more. 

What are you most scared of? 

Sharks. 

Cats or dogs? 

Dogs.

Sunrise or sunset? 

Sunset. I wouldn't be awake for the sunrise... 

Chocolate or Vanilla?

Chocolate.

Favourite food? 

Also, chocolate. 

What about your favourite dessert? 

Chocolate souffle.
