"I’ve dreamt of weekends like this"
After rain pushed half of Saturday’s race into Sunday, Pato and the No. 5 Arrow McLaren Chevrolet crew capitalized on a rare doubleheader day at the Milwaukee Mile. Pato made history by becoming the first driver to win multiple INDYCAR SERIES races in a single day since Rick Mears accomplished the feat at Atlanta Motor Speedway in 1981. Pato joins motorsports legends Mario Andretti, Dan Gurney, Rick Mears, Johnny Rutherford, Al Unser and Bobby Unser as the only drivers to accomplish the feat of two IndyCar wins in one day. He now holds three victories this season, second-most among all drivers on the grid (Palou: 6). After a pair of wins, McLaren Racing boasts 32 victories in the INDYCAR SERIES, and 14 since returning to full-time competition in 2020. Christian and the No. 7 VELO Arrow McLaren Chevrolet crew also found their way to the podium, finishing P3 in Race 2. It marked the fourth all-time double podium for Arrow McLaren (Mid Ohio 2026; Thermal Club 2025; IMS Road Course 2023). Christian followed up the podium drive with a P6 result afterward as the field completed the Race 1 event. Nolan worked his way forward through heavy traffic to bring home P17 and P13 results, respectively. The Arrow McLaren IndyCar Team will head to WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca next weekend for a season finale showdown as they continue to push forward within the championship standings.

“I’ve dreamt of weekends like this, having the doubleheaders just a couple times in my career and wishing that I would win both in a weekend, and today we got to win both in a day. It’s a dream come true for myself and for the team. I’m just so happy we were able to get back on our oval form that we’ve been chasing all year. What a way to wrap up the oval races after some tough challenges. Going onto Laguna Seca, my car will look different for the first time in years outside of the Indy 500. I’m sure you’re going to love the No. 5 Arrow McLaren Chevy livery because I sure do!”

“I’m happy with today, with an oval podium and sitting in second in the championship into the season finale. It’s unfortunate because I feel we were really good in pit lane in Race 1 today, and we did a good job in Race 2 when we were really fighting for it. If we could have maybe merged those a little better, we could have potentially had a win earlier today. It was a good weekend overall. We hauled in a bunch of points and got to celebrate a podium today.”

“Overall we salvaged what we could and made the most of a bad situation from yesterday. I’m very proud of the crew for hanging in there. Race 1, which was after Race 2 oddly today, was a good recovery and a good building block. We made progress and salvaged some good points from what could have been a much more damaging weekend. I’m thankful to the crew for the work they put in and the engineers for a solid strategy to bring me forward. Awesome job to Pato for two wins today and Christian for his first oval podium. I’ve got to give a shoutout to Kohler and Chevy. It was great to race representing both their brands over the doubleheader weekend.”
“Just an awesome showing by the team today and through the weekend. It wasn't an easy one for any team to work through with the rain delays and long days at track, but the entire team gave it their all and we're taking home a good amount of hardware from Milwaukee this weekend. For Pato, what else can I say? Back to back wins in one day, the first time that's happened in IndyCar since 1981, and the first for our team since Johnny Rutherford in 1979. And a double podium with Christian was just awesome for the team as well. Nolan had a strong recovery in each race after a tough start to the weekend. So a lot to be proud of. A lot of hard work, and we're going after it one more week into the season finale at Laguna Seca."
