"Ultimately it's a good starting point"
Arrow McLaren opened the weekend at Portland International Raceway with a strong showing Friday, a marked improvement from last year’s visit. Christian led the way in Practice 1, setting the fastest lap in the No. 7 VELO Arrow McLaren Chevrolet.
Pato secured the ninth-fastest time and left the session confident there’s more pace to unlock.
An hour before the green flag, Nolan’s No. 6 SmartStop Arrow McLaren Chevrolet encountered a hybrid system issue. The crew made quick work to resolve it, sending him out for 25 laps that provided a solid foundation for Saturday’s busy schedule.

"It was a good start here in Portland. Obviously there were some big changes compared to last year. We found some overall pace, although it still seems the 10 car is strong, so we still need to work hard and see if we can find some more for tomorrow and Sunday. Ultimately it's a good starting point. Everyone had a week off from racing, and that's rubbing off on us." |

“It was an awesome full team effort to get the car out to Practice 1 after we noticed an issue with the hybrid before the session. They worked quickly to get the No. 6 Chevy out to the track on time. A major thank you to the entire crew. As for Practice, we’ve got some work to do to get the car in the window. We were pretty good balance-wise and did a few tests. But really, I'm happy that we were able to get out there at all, and we'll push forward for a smoother day tomorrow." |
