Sam

“I’m very excited for the Misano double header! The team’s been working hard to prepare for this event, we’ve learnt a lot over the last couple of races and look forward to getting back to scoring points in Italy. I think this weekend could see some strong racing, similar to what we saw last year in Portland and earlier this year in São Paulo.”

Jake

“I’m looking forward to Misano after the disappointing result in Tokyo. Motorsport has its ups and downs, and it’s all about bouncing back which is exactly what we’ll be trying to do this weekend. The team and I have been working hard prepping on the simulator and getting plans in place. I have full confidence that we’ll be able to turn things around in Misano and score some more points.”

Ian James

“The Misano E-Prix will see us face another new track: the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli is known for its relation to both the MotoGP and WorldSBK. However, as a Formula E track, it should also provide some exciting racing, with plenty of overtaking opportunities.

“After a disappointing race in Tokyo, the team have been working on ensuring we can improve our performance in time for Misano. The double-header will provide an opportunity to build on the success we have enjoyed earlier this season.

“The Misano E-Prix will also see the first Rookie Free Practice session of the season and I'm excited to have Taylor Barnard back in the car representing the team. It's a great opportunity for Taylor to gain more experience in Gen3 machinery. Let’s go racing!”

Tokyo

Last time out

Jake and Sam were unable to follow up on their remarkable São Paulo E-Prix at the Tokyo E-Prix, as the pair suffered their fair share of misfortune. After struggling for pace in Qualifying, Jake started the race from 16th due to a three-place grid penalty, but managed to fight his way up to 13th by the Chequered Flag. On the other side of the garage, meanwhile, Sam suffered from a DNF.

For all the frustration, the team feels that they understood the issues they experienced and learnt a great deal from the race, putting them in a better position to attack rounds moving forwards. The NEOM McLaren Formula E Team are currently sixth in the standings with 55 points.
