“I’m really looking forward to this race weekend. It will be a home race for the team, for Sam and for myself. I think we’ve had a nice upturn in form lately, so I am keen to show what we can do at the final event of the season. For me personally, I feel like I'm in a really good place with the car and the team, so I’m looking forward to putting that out on track over the weekend and getting some good results.”
“I’m extremely excited to have the final two races of the season in London, especially with it being my home race. I am hoping to see out my first season with the NEOM McLaren Formula E Team with two strong results, let’s see what we can do!”
“The final race weekend of the season is around the corner: one of the team’s home races, this time in London. This weekend we have a clear task at hand: to realise the potential we have in both Qualifying and race performance, thereby consolidating our position within the Championship.
“We’ve made some great memories this season, such as Sam’s win in São Paulo – the first for the NEOM McLaren Formula E Team – and Jake’s first podium in Shanghai. However, despite the successes, we have failed to fully capitalise on our potential. On the flip-side, the learning never stops and I am confident that our trajectory is positive and that we can be optimistic for future seasons.
“Before we get there, we still have two races in London; one of the most exciting tracks on the Formula E calendar. With the circuit, located in the city’s historic Docklands area, including both indoor and outdoor sections, it provides a unique challenge for drivers and teams alike.
“As always, I would like to say a huge thank you to all the team, our partners and our fans for the support this season. As we bring Season 10 to a close this weekend, we hope to make you proud once more. Bring on the London E-Prix!”
The London E-Prix is not only the season finale, but also our home race in Formula E
Last time out
Sam and Jake enjoyed contrasting weekends in the last round at Portland. Jake started the weekend off strongly, qualifying second, but was then hit by another car in the race, which caused a puncture and ruled him out of points-scoring contention. On the other side of the garage, Sam started the race in 19th but enjoyed a charge to seventh.
Sunday proved to be a more challenging day for both drivers. Sam and Jake had both been running strongly towards the front of the grid, but suffered race-ending damage through no fault of their own.
However, both walked away from Portland with positives, praising the team’s work over the weekend and the pace of the car they had beneath them.
