The British Grand Prix according to social media
'British summer vibes' is a phrase we saw a lot of during the weekend, but what does it actually mean? Well, if it refers to Lando getting bopped on the head by Daniel with a space hopper, bucket hats, aviator helmets and a shoey on the fan stage, then yeah, the weekend just gone had 'British summer vibes'.
Who better to tell the story of our home grand prix than the fans who lived it? Whether amongst the 400,000 of you at track throughout the weekend or in the comfort of your own homes, you were noisier than ever. Come wind, rain or shine – and we experienced it all at Silverstone.
Welcome to LandoLand…
It's the British Grand Prix, so we imagine those of you travelling to it all heard 'Can you pack me in your suitcase?' more than a few times from family and friends.
Well, we think you 'nailed' the design, @studentissues20.
To keep you busy on your travels, we released a Lando quiz on our website and app. And having seen your results, we reckon several of you could ace a Lando Norris-themed-round on Mastermind.
Our One Lap for Mind initiative was the first lap of the weekend and what an effort from you all!
We saw some weird and wonderful attempts, but completing it at an Ed Sheeran gig? That takes the biscuit.
Lando's new LP, dropping soon.
Our personal highlight of the weekend? No competition.
Daniel's reaction had serious 'don't tell mum vibes'.
Top class commitment. Get well soon, @LN4GR63.
A very happy birthday to our very happy honeybadger!
These tasty treats would go great with a classic cup of British tea.
Speaking of food, who else treated themselves to a full English this weekend?
Time to get down to business… Where were you watching from?
There's always next year, @simolentii_f1.
Bit early for Monza, @ed_bannon?
Congratulations, @ooGQoo!
British weather, anyone?
Where can we get a pair of these?
Silverstone was an absolute sea of papaya.
And thanks to our personalisation pit-stop, we're now on first name basis with a whole load more of you!
Heroic work, @bookcasebetty.
And from @JoesWelshBunny as well. Don't worry, your secret is safe with us.
@stevononline has discovered a new breed of bearded dragon. Has anyone notified David Attenborough?
Daniel Chickkiardo is a real chirpy looking dude.
We wouldn't have been as trusting as George Russell was…
We knew we recognised Lando and Daniel's race day looks…
With the action just moments away, adventure was most certainly out there.
After a scary opening lap crash, we were glad that all of the drivers involved were okay. When racing resumed, the action had us on the edge of our seats, with Daniel attempting to work his way up through the field and Lando embroiled in a five-car tussle for the final podium spot with Sergio Pérez, Lewis Hamilton, Charles Leclerc and Fernando Alonso.
Despite their best efforts, Lando finished sixth and Daniel 13th.
We hope you enjoyed your first grand prix!
Who else managed to spot themselves when we were on the fan stage?
You don't look convinced, Lando?
Whether you were watching from home or at Silverstone, we hope you had an amazing weekend. Silverstone, you never, ever disappoint. Thank you as always for all of your support.
Anyone still on fence about going to Austria? We doubt it...
