Successful delivery of our sustainability programme requires data-driven decision-making, cross-team collaboration and buy-in from leadership and the whole Team. The same structures, ways of working, and culture that enable us to perform on track also provide a strong foundation for managing sustainability as an organisation.
This page outlines the sustainability governance and processes that support our activities, provide the rigour behind our commitments and initiatives, and ultimately make our sustainability programme possible.
Our main sustainability hub provides more details on our projects, strategy, and annual sustainability reporting.
McLaren Racing is committed to providing regular, transparent and balanced reporting on our social and environmental performance across our value chain, including our operations both at our factories and at track. We publish an annual Sustainability Report which details our strategy, progress against targets, and key initiatives over the most recent calendar year.
Our commitment, both to transparency and to delivering progress, comes directly from our leaders. Our Executive Team meets quarterly to discuss sustainability topics across all racing series, as well as business and commercial activities at McLaren Racing.
In 2026, we undertook a structured double materiality assessment, evolving our previous sustainability materiality assessments conducted in 2022 and 2024.
Double materiality assessment, or DMA, is a governance process designed to identify the sustainability topics that matter most to an organisation and its stakeholders, both internal and external, and prioritise them to drive meaningful action. It is intended to define clear focus areas, align with good practice, and engage stakeholders to help move our programme forward.
The DMA process assesses the impact of each topic across environmental and social sustainability on two axes, based on both quantitative and qualitative evidence collected through internal research and stakeholder input:
The impact of a topic on McLaren’s business operations
McLaren’s impact on the topic
Each topic is scored using a standardised grading, and scores are then compared to identify the topics which are both impactful to McLaren, and which McLaren has the largest impact on, identifying those as the highest priorities.
Below are the summary results of our DMA assessment.
