Take a closer look inside the Arrow McLaren IndyCar Team’s new state-of-the-art headquarters

Arrow McLaren officially opened its new home last week, celebrating the milestone in a big way.
On February 4, the team launched the 2026 season by unveiling the McLaren Racing Center (MRC) and the liveries for its three full-time entries. More than 200 partners, community members, industry guests and fans attended the event, hosted by FOX’s Jamie Little. The full program is available on demand on the NTT INDYCAR SERIES YouTube channel:
Now that the building’s six-month renovation is complete, let’s take a look inside the new, state-of-the-art 86,000 square-foot race shop:
The first thing visitors will notice upon entering the MRC is an expansive lobby featuring a showcar display that can fit up to four cars. At the Grand Opening event last week, the lobby contained:
2025 MCL39 of the McLaren Mastercard Formula 1 Team
2025 Chevrolet DW12 of the Arrow McLaren IndyCar Team
2025 McLaren 750s of McLaren Automotive in signature papaya

The MRC lobby also features two bespoke murals – one that captures the team’s journey since re-entering the NTT INDYCAR SERIES on a full-time basis in 2020 and another that showcases every single driver to ever win a race with McLaren Racing.

This is the heart of the operation. Here the cars are developed, built and adjusted on a year-round basis. Importantly, the new shop has space for various specialty areas including the Machine Shop, Gearbox Room, Fabrication Shop, Assembly and Subassembly plus Paint Booths.
Visitors will also notice the massive Indy 500 start line shot on the wall east of the car bays.

The back bays are where the team’s transporters live. The move to the new building provides the team with many upgrades, none more valuable than nearly tripling the size of the workspace. The MRC can comfortably house the entire fleet of team transporters indoors, with space to spare.
Just beyond the back bays, you will find the Pit Stop Area, complete with sanded-down flooring and a complete pit box replica, where the pit crews can hone their skills.

This gym and recovery center is a purpose-built, high-ceilinged space designed to support both physical and mental preparation between races. Led by Head of Human Performance Ryan Harber, the hub includes group training areas, a hot tub, cold plunge, sauna, fully equipped locker rooms plus a recovery area where the team will frequently host chiropractors and physical therapists.

The new Team Break Room is a shared space on the second floor where employees from all departments can relax, eat and connect. The room includes a wide overlook window above the shop floor and accommodates up to 70 people creating a welcoming venue for conferences, events and various gatherings.

The second floor also features open-concept workspace and offices for the team’s engineering, commercial and corporate departments. This level also holds various conference rooms named after iconic racetracks, the team’s trophy case and a custom team kit room provided by California Closets, creating a repository for the new and expanded line of team gear and apparel provided by PUMA.
