Out-qualified 15 times out of 16 races and beaten seven-five in race wins, it looked all over for Lauda against Prost.

So when you have a young guy like Prost as a team-mate…” He trails off, but everyone remembers the Estoril showdown. Lauda used guile, desire and race craft to crawl himself back into contention. He beat his younger team-mate by half a point.
