McLAREN Shadow Project Grand Final: explained
All you need to know ahead of the 2019 showdown
The Grand Final of McLaren Shadow Project, season 2 is upon us. You can check out the action on Saturday 14 December at 19:00 GMT on YouTube.
In the meantime, here’s the lowdown on this year’s finalists and what they’ll need to do in order to be hailed as 2019’s one and only McLaren Shadow Project champion!
What is the format of the final this year?
It’s a points-based competition, with the best performer in each round gaining the maximum of six points, and the other five following in descending order.Â
The drivers will get behind the virtual wheel on the world’s best racing games, including Forza Motorsport 7, Real Racing 3, Assetto Corsa and rFactor 2. Powered by Alienware PCs and screens, the driver rigs will be comprised of Playseat gaming seats and Logitech G wheels, pedals and headphones and battle it out on mobile on Real Racing 3.

Who are the finalists?
Josh Purwein – Race to Singapore qualifier, on F1 2019 (Australia)
Erhan Jajovski – rFactor 2 qualifier (North Macedonia)
Jan Saathoff - Real Racing 3 qualifier (Germany)
Igor de Oliviers Rodrigues – Forza Motorsport qualifier (Brazil)
Isaac Gillissen – Logitech G Challenge qualifier, on Project Cars 2 (Netherlands)
Kevin Siggy Rebernak - Assetto Corsa qualifier (Slovenia)
What do they win?
