“I’m really looking forward to getting out to Portland. Coming off the back of a brilliant result of a pole position and my first Formula E podium in Shanghai, I’m heading into Portland with a lot of confidence.
“We’re expecting to have similar style races to what we had in Shanghai, so hopefully we can repeat what I did there. Last year, we also had quick one-lap pace in Portland, if we can repeat that, we can execute another strong weekend.”

“I’m very excited to get going in Portland this week. For me personally, Shanghai was a difficult weekend. In the weeks since, we’ve prepared extremely well for Portland. We understand what kind of racing there will be, and I look forward to hopefully scoring some decent points in this upcoming double-header.”

“After a few weeks since we raced in Shanghai, the NEOM McLaren Formula E Team returns to Portland for the second time. We are coming off the back of a strong result at our last race in Shanghai; Jake’s first-ever Formula E podium.
“Heading into Portland, we cannot rest on that result. We moved in the right direction in Shanghai but know that there is a huge amount still to do in order to get us in a position to meet our own expectations, consistently.
“Since our first time competing in Portland last year, we have grown to become familiar with more energy-sensitive racing with plenty of overtakes in Formula E. Now, with more experience tackling these types of races under our belt, we are confident we can improve upon last season’s results.
“There are two double events left in Season 10, which means four more opportunities for points and potentially podiums. Bring it on.”

Last time out
After a frustrating Saturday, where he finished the race in 17th, Jake bounced back on Sunday with his first Formula E podium, finishing second in the race, having notched his fourth pole position in the all-electric series.
On the other side of the garage, the team was delighted to see Sam Bird make his return from injury. Although the British driver failed to score any points, he enjoyed valuable track time and swiftly got back up to speed. We’re currently sixth in the Teams’ standings with 89 points.
