I FEEL THE NEED… THE NEED FOR GOODWOOD FESTIVAL OF SPEED

Your guide to the world's greatest celebration of motorsport and car culture

The ultimate motoring garden party, Goodwood Festival of Speed, is back! And, what’s more, we’ll be there. Summer last year just wasn’t the same without our beloved festival but there’s no risk of that in 2021, as it makes its eagerly anticipated return. Admittedly, you won’t be able to get quite the same levels of unprecedented access as in previous years, while we seek to keep everyone safe by following some all-important rulesarrow top right. But, aside from a couple of extra metres, the odd face mask and gallons of hand sanitiser, things won’t be too different. And besides, who wants to get that close to a sweaty Lando Norris or Daniel Ricciardo after they’ve completed a buttock-clenching run up Goodwood’s famous hill?

So, just what have we got in store for you over this unparalleled weekend?

Well, as we’ve already alluded to, Lando and Daniel will be there. Daniel will be behind the wheel of the MP4/5B on Saturday, Lando will take over driving duties on Sunday, and both will be taking part in plenty of live interviews throughout the weekend.

What’s so special about the MP4/5Barrow top right, you ask? It’s the car that took Ayrton Sennaarrow top right to his second drivers’ title and McLaren to its sixth constructors’ title in 1990, that’s what! So don’t be surprised to hear that the MP4/5B will be in action on Friday too.

Two-time F1 champion Emerson Fittipaldi arrow top right– the man we won our first F1 titles with in 1974 – will be on the scene on Saturday, driving the MP4/5B’s successor, the MP4/6arrow top right, which continued Senna and the team’s title-winning run in 1991.

Want more McLaren F1 goodness? We’ll have the MCL35 on display and you’ll be able to get up close and personal with the all-conquering MP4/4arrow top right that was driven by Senna and Alain Prostarrow top right.

That’s not all though, our friends at McLaren Automotive are bringing a plethora of automotive exotica including the McLaren GT, 765LT Coupe, P1, Elva and the achingly beautiful Artura. Even Emmo’s championship-winning M23arrow top right will be on show. Plus, our McLaren Gulf livery from this year's Monaco Grand Prix will be on display.

Oh, and did we mention prizes? Yeah, we’ve got those too. You can win two VIP passes to the 2022 British Grand Prix and enjoy behind-the-scenes access to the McLaren team, full hospitality, a tour of the paddock and McLaren garage, and get the chance to meet the McLaren F1 drivers. You’ll be able to get all the details at Goodwood, but when you enter this competition by texting ‘dofe’ to 84903 you’ll be doing your bit to raise funds for the Duke of Edinburgh’s Awardarrow top right, as each entry will incur a £10 donation to the charity.

And if you want to attend this year’s British Grand Prix, we’ve got a pair of grandstand tickets up for grabs too. Just scan the QR code at the McLaren garage, sign up to McLaren Plusarrow top right and they could be yours!
