He went on to become the 2004 NTT INDYCAR SERIES champion and winner of the 2013 Indianapolis 500.

Tony raced in 27 seasons in the NTT INDYCAR SERIES, totaling 388 starts (2nd all-time behind Mario Andretti), 4,077 laps led (11th-most), 79 top-three finishes (12th-most) and 17 wins (tied for 28th-most) throughout his career. He remains the series’ record holder with 318 consecutive starts made from the Portland Grand Prix in 2001 through the first race of the 2020 season at Texas Motor Speedway.

Tony has been a fan favorite in the series for decades and always maintains one of the largest followings on social media in the paddock.
