MARK INGHAM

Technical Director, Engineering Delivery

Mark Ingham is Technical Director, Engineering Delivery at McLaren Mastercard Formula 1 Team. In this role, he supports the strategic delivery of the engineering and design required to create and race a best-in-class Formula 1 car, bridging concept creation and programme delivery. He is responsible for establishing the standards, processes, plans and organisational capability needed to turn technical innovation into reliable on-track performance.

Mark studied Engineering at the University of Cambridge and began his motorsport career in 1988 as a Formula 1 development engineer at Cosworth. In 1995, Mark joined McLaren and is one of a small group of team members who were present both in 1998, when McLaren won the Constructors’ Championship for the seventh time, and in 2024 when McLaren won its ninth Constructors’ Championship. Mark also represented the team on the podium at the 2025 Hungarian Grand Prix, joining Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri in celebrating the team’s 200th victory.

During more than three decades with McLaren, Mark has held a series of senior engineering and design positions. After initially leading engine-systems design projects, he became Car Design Project Leader in 2009, Head of Design in 2012 and Director, Design in 2021. He took up his current role in October 2026 and works closely with the team’s technical, aerodynamic, performance and production functions to strengthen engineering execution and deliver performance.
