McLAREN Racing takes over Trafalgar Square for July fan activation
"It will be an unforgettable experience"
On 2-3 July, McLaren Racing will take over Trafalgar Square with McLaren Racing Live: London, a two-day event celebrating all things racing and innovation. The fan-focused event will paint central London Papaya in the lead-up to the McLaren Formula 1 Team’s home race, the British Grand Prix.
McLaren Racing Live: London is a key moment in McLaren Racing’s Never Stop Racing campaign, launched at F1®75 season launch, and reflects the team’s ambition to bring McLaren’s story and the passion underlying our sport closer to audiences who may not be able to attend a race weekend.
The Trafalgar Square takeover will offer fans the chance to get up close to a wide range of race cars from McLaren’s racing series, including Formula 1, Formula E, IndyCar, WEC and heritage cars. Visitors will also be able to take part in interactive experiences including racing simulators, a Batak reaction wall, a pit-stop challenge, and a dedicated McLaren Racing merchandise store.
A number of Mclaren Racing’s partners will help bring the event to life, which will include chances to win in the Allwyn Race Zone, a priceless moment with Mastercard, special announcements with partners Google and NEOM, plus activations with DP World, Hilton, Dropbox and Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey.
Across the two days, there will also be appearances from McLaren Racing team members, and we will host a dedicated STEM engagement session for children from across London schools, as part of our commitment to inspiring the next generation of motorsport talent.
The fan zone will be free and un-ticketed and more details will be released closer to the event.
Louise McEwen, Chief Marketing Officer, McLaren Racing, said:
“We absolutely cannot wait to paint Trafalgar Square Papaya with McLaren Racing Live: London. Never Stop Racing is all about bringing our fans closer to the team beyond the track together with the support from our incredible partners. It will be an unforgettable experience and we look forward to celebrating with everyone as we get ready for our home race at Silverstone.”
