Behind the Scenes: Pato Takes Out the Trash
Peel back the curtain on the set of FOX's latest commercial shoot

You've seen Pato in a race car. Now meet him in a garbage truck.
The first year of the NTT INDYCAR SERIES on FOX brought an engaging lineup of ads that fans saw again and again. One of those driver-focused pieces spotlighted Pato as a "one-man boy band."
Jumping into 2026, Pato is now seen wheeling a behemoth garbage truck in an ad that debuts during the NFC Championship Game on FOX when the Los Angeles Rams and Seattle Seahawks square off. Expect the spot to keep popping up throughout the year across FOX’s biggest events.

6:00 a.m.: Call Time
Pato rolled onto set in a stylish McLaren 750S before sunrise, fueling up with breakfast ahead of the day.
First up: hair and makeup.

6:30 a.m.: Meet with Director
Next, Pato sat down with the Director to review the storyboard.
As he wrapped up the conversation, Pato sampled various bling to sport across the day.

7:00 a.m.: Rigging up the Truck
As Pato finished his look, the crew put the final touches on rigging the garbage truck, dialing in precise camera angles to capture both in motion.

7:30 A.M: Behind the Wheel
With sunlight filling the sky, it was go time.
Pato jumped into the "cockpit" of the garbage truck and made himself comfortable. Within a few minutes of capturing b-roll there, they began to really put the "wheels in motion."

9:00 A.M.: FIRST SCENE DONE
Pato knocked out the first scene quickly, which happened to be among his favorites, sipping macha and singing along as he cruised through the neighborhood.
Shifting into the next phase of the shot list, Pato caught up with the crew and watched them switch cameras over on the truck.

10:00 A.M.: Extras Arrive
As Pato continued to charge through the closed-off neighborhood, the 'extra talent' arrived to the set and began preparations for ther respective part in the commercial.
Wardrobe options stretched as far as the eye could see.

11:30 A.M.: Lunch break
With the team making good progress through the shot list, they took a break for lunch and caught their breath.
Pato reviewed plans for his 2026 helmet design, jumped on a quick interview and finished his chicken and salad before heading back to his garbage truck, which was decorated with a familiar friend.

2:00 p.m.: And, Scene!
The crew made quick work of a busy and chaotic afternoon. Pato tore through the neighborhood again, knocking over trash cans and mailboxes while making a beautiful mess along the way.
After capturing the final bits of b-roll, it was a wrap on set for Pato by mid-afternoon. He said his thank yous and goodbyes to the crew before returning to downtown L.A.

3:00: Finishing Touches
The spotlight next turned to the extras on-set to help bring the neighborhood to life. After completing those final scenes, it was a wrap for the day.
From directors to producers to camera operaters to talent to production crew to support staff, several dozen professionals came together to produce the energetic, memorable spot in a single day.
