Just like Fernando Alonso, Emerson Fittipaldi was a double-Formula 1 world champion who ventured across the Atlantic to enjoy the fruits of the USA’s IndyCar Series.

The Brazilian was McLaren’s very first Formula 1 world champion, lifting the 1974 drivers’ title behind the wheel of the iconic McLaren M23 to place alongside the championship he won for Lotus in ’72.

Emmo has motor racing coursing through his veins. As well as his numerous grand prix successes, he scooped two Indy 500 victories and a CART title, well after a decade after turning his back on Formula 1.
