McLAREN Racing reveals full lineup for Velocity Invitational

David Malukas and Tanner Foust join previously announced Pato O’Ward, Alexander Rossi, Tony Kanaan, Lando Norris and Zak Brown

McLaren Racing today announces its full lineup of drivers for the fourth annual Velocity Invitational, which takes place at Sonoma Raceway from November 10-12.

Arrow McLaren driver David Malukas and NEOM McLaren Extreme E driver Tanner Foust join the previously announced lineup of McLaren Racing drivers Pato O’Ward, Alexander Rossi and Tony Kanaan of the NTT INDYCAR SERIES, Formula 1 driver Lando Norris and McLaren Racing CEO Zak Brown.

David, 22, is entering his first season with Arrow McLaren after agreeing to a multiyear deal in September while Foust, 50, is in the midst of his second campaign in papaya. On top of driving on track, Zak and the drivers will meet with fans throughout the weekend and participate in autograph sessions Saturday and Sunday.

The Velocity Invitational plays host to an unparalleled lineup of the rarest cars in the world. Zak and the five drivers will arrive at Sonoma Raceway with the largest collection of heritage cars that McLaren Racing has brought to the event as part of the team’s 60th anniversary celebration. Each of the cars running represents significant moments in McLaren and racing history, from world championships to key turning points in technical innovation.

Among the nine iconic McLarens that will be at event include the MP4/2-1 in which Niki Lauda won the 1984 World Championship, and Lewis Hamilton’s MP4/23A-05, the car he drove to clinch his first World Championship in 2008. The 1991 MP4/6-10 that represented the end of a racing era, being the last manual, stick-shift gearbox car to win a World Championship, will also be at the event. This collection of cars has been driven by some of the most accomplished drivers in racing history, including Lewis, Niki, Bruce McLaren, Ayrton Senna and more.

This year marks McLaren Racing’s third appearance at Velocity Invitational.

Zak Brown, CEO, McLaren Racing:

“We are thrilled to once again partner with Velocity Invitational and add to the ever-growing list of fantastic cars, drivers and collectors participating. It is the perfect opportunity to demonstrate the iconic machines that McLaren has produced throughout its history, and what better way to continue our 60th anniversary celebration by delivering our largest collection of cars yet. We can’t wait for our exciting driver lineup to bring these cars to life.”

Jeff O’Neill, Founder, Velocity Invitational, said:

“We sincerely appreciate Zak and McLaren Racing for their support of this event. The Velocity Invitational has become a must-attend event for car enthusiasts, and this experience wouldn’t be possible without the presence of McLaren, its historic cars and driver participation. I’m looking forward to seeing all nine of their iconic cars on Sonoma Raceway’s road course come November.”
