It’s the Friday of the 2006 US GP and Ron Dennis is in the FIA official press conference when the subject of his race drivers comes up. Kimi Räikkönen had been walking his dog in the paddock, while Juan Pablo Montoya was spotted playing with his newborn son.

How had Ron been dealing with these two drivers? “If wearing a Ronald McDonald uniform personally made the drivers go quicker or get better results, I’d be the first one into it,” he joked. “And if it appears to be an uncharacteristically human aspect of McLaren, then in the past, then yes, we haven’t always embraced the concept of prams and woofers…”
