Ask any driver. The moment they peel back the curtains on the morning of the Belgian GP and they see the rain and fog, their heart skips a beat.

Spa is the most daunting circuit of them all and when it’s wet, it’s perilous. The race in late August 1998, has gone down in F1 folklore. It began with probably the worst first lap shunt the sport has ever seen. DC accelerated out of La Source and suddenly speared left into the wall and back into the on-coming pack. Visibility through the stygian murk was non-existent and 13 cars smashed into the chaos…
