The Canadian Grand Prix according to social media

A backpack full of Tim Tams, a team of soggy Sky Sports presenters, and a boatload of overtakes

From practice, to qualifying and the race, there was plenty to smile about in Montreal, with some solid qualifying pace backed up by several eye-catching overtakes in the grand prix, but sadly, we couldnโ€™t translate that into any points.

The lack of points doesnโ€™t do justice to our performances this weekend, and owed plenty to bad luck, but weโ€™ll be taking away the positives and getting our heads down at the McLaren Technology Centre ahead of the Austrian Grand Prix.

Whilst we put the finishing touches on another set of upgrades for the MCL60, you can check out your best social media reaction from the weekend. Here's how it looked from your eyes.ย

Oscar was giving off main character energy

We certainly think so.

His backpack is probably full of Tim Tams.

A lengthy Red Flag delay in FP1 left us searching for something to do. @chaasfilm's suggestion would have been a great idea. We just need to remmember to bring it with us.ย

Not all heroes wear capes, some let you in their Team Hub. A soggy spell on Friday left the Sky Sports team needing somewhere to present from, and we were only too happy to help our friends out.ย

Are you sure? That doesnโ€™t sound right. Fancy giving us a tutorial?

Weโ€™ll never turn down a group hug.

We hope that it was worth the wait, @Power_cat13.

Greg is welcome. He looks like a good boy.

Thatโ€™s an early one! Rather you than usโ€ฆ

You never know, a taste of this may change your mindโ€ฆ

It is a fantastic track, isnโ€™t it?

Thanks, team!

Weโ€™ve all good to start somewhere!

Technically speaking, it is a sign, yesโ€ฆ

Sounds like a perfect summer weekend. We hope your boys won in the baseball match.ย

This is awesome!

Fatherโ€™s Day gifts donโ€™t come much better than this.

There was a rare mistake from Oscar in qualifying as he crashed at the exit of Turn 8. The rookie had already impressed in the session by making it through to Q3 and you were quick to let him know he had your support.

Oscar gained a spot after a grid drop penalty for Carlos Sainz, whilst Lando secured a space directly in front of him, with the Australian starting from eighth and Lando in seventh.

What is your race day routine? Let us know in the replies on Twitter.ย

There are worse places to be watching the race fromโ€ฆ

But watching the race from track itself isnโ€™t one of them.

Decisions, decisions. Which top did you go for?

Evening races are unrivalled.

Both drivers enjoyed a clean getaway off the line and were well in the hunt for points, pulling off some slick overtakes around the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve.

We thought you were in charge of the plan?

For all of the good work during the race, there was to be a frustrating ending, as Lando was handed a five-second penalty for unsportsmanlike conduct and both drivers dropped out of the top 10.ย

As ever, you chose to see the positives and rallied behind us.ย

Proud of you both, lads.

High praise, indeed.

We couldnโ€™t agree more, @nikkitbh.

Weโ€™d better make it a special one then!

For all of the disappointment, weโ€™re now excited to get back out on track in Austria. See you in just under two weeks, Papaya Army!
