NEOM McLAREN Extreme E Team announce Hedda Hosås to replace recovering Emma Gilmour for Copper X Prix
We wish Emma a speedy recovery
The NEOM McLaren Extreme E Team today announces that Hedda Hosås will replace Emma Gilmour for the 2023 Copper X Prix.
Following an incident at the 2023 Island X Prix II, this September, Emma has been recovering at home, and is still in the recovery process. Although she is making good progress with her recovery, she is unfortunately not fit in time to drive for the Copper X Prix next week. We wish her a speedy recovery.
Hedda Hosås will be competing for the NEOM McLaren Extreme E Team at the upcoming Copper X Prix.
Hedda, 22, from Norway, has proven herself to be a strong up-and-coming talent in off-road racing. She entered Extreme E in 2021 as the reserve driver for Veloce Racing, before becoming a championship driver for the 2022 Desert X Prix. She has since competed in the championship for the remainder of the 2022 and 2023 seasons.

Throughout her time in Extreme E, Hedda has proven herself to be a strong competitor in the championship, and I am confident she can help the team achieve success to round off our second season in Extreme E.”
Emma Gilmour said:
“Following my incident in Sardinia in September, I’ve had to take the difficult decision to not compete in the final round of the 2023 Extreme E season in Chile next week. I have been making good progress with my recovery, but do not feel well enough to compete yet. I’m confident that Hedda will do a good job to help bring the team some well-deserved success.
“I’m looking forward to supporting the rest of the team on the ground and helping them to end the season on a high.”
