So, you’ve joined the McLaren Racing Collective and got your hands on some sought-after McLaren Racing digital collectibles in the form of NFTs on the Tezos blockchain, but now you’re wondering if you can cash in on their popularity and, if so, how. 

Well, you can, and here’s our simple guide…

1 | Where can I sell a McLaren Racing digital collectible?

You can sell it on the Sweet platform, home to the McLaren Racing Collective, but you’ll need a digital wallet because sellers receive their payment in tez (XTZ) – the cryptocurrency of the Tezos blockchain on which all McLaren Racing digital collectibles are issued.

2 | How do I get a digital wallet?

If you don’t have a Tezos wallet yet, a popular choice is to set up a Kukai Wallet – Temple, Trust Wallet, or any other Tezos-compatible wallets you might already have, will work fine too.

Back to Kukai! Head to its website and sign in to create a wallet. Look in the top-right corner of the page to find your wallet address. Copy the address and paste it into the Tezos address field when setting up an auction to sell your digital collectible on the Sweet platform.

3 | Do I need to send my digital collectible to my digital wallet?

There’s no need to send any of your collectibles to your digital wallet. This wallet is only necessary for sellers to receive payment from the auctions they create via the user-to-user auction function on the Sweet platform.

4 | I've sold my digital collectible and now have lots of XTZ. How do I convert my XTZ to GBP or another fiat currency?

You can use any regulated cryptocurrency exchange that supports XTZ to convert your XTZ to a fiat currency (money issued by a central bank or government).

5 | Can I just be paid in fiat currency when selling my digital collectible instead?

Receiving payments in fiat currency from an auction is a feature that is currently in the Sweet platform product roadmap. Until this feature is available, if you are interested in alternative ways to sell your digital collectible, you may utilise a platform of your choosing such as the McLaren Racing Collective Discord Server and visit the #marketplace channel.
