A talented driver with strong Championship experience under his belt, Richard Verschoor will continue his development within the McLaren Driver Development Programme.
Richard Verschoor began his competitive journey in karting, winning multiple Championships. His strong progression through the karting categories saw him soon make the switch to single-seaters in 2016, where he won both the SMP Formula 4 Championship and the Spanish Formula 4 Championship.
Richard continued his climb through Europe’s most competitive junior series, securing one of the most prestigious victories in junior motorsport by winning the 2019 Macau Grand Prix - FIA F3 World Cup, becoming the first Dutch driver to achieve this milestone.
His career path has included the FIA Formula 3 Championship and the FIA Formula 2 Championship, where he has secured multiple race victories and podiums.
Richard’s involvement in the McLaren Driver Development Programme sees him join the team’s talent pipeline, which has an overarching aim of helping drivers progress towards Formula 1, IndyCar, and the team’s upcoming World Endurance Championship entry.
