Gabriel’s determination and hard work impressed motorsport team Trident, who invited Gabriel to take part in the 2022 FIA Formula 3 post-season test at Jerez. Not long after, Trident announced him as their driver for the 2023 FIA Formula 3 season. Gabriel started the campaign strong by securing a win in the first feature race of the season in Bahrain. He was crowned champion at the final round in Monza.
Following his success, Gabriel joined the McLaren Driver Development programme in October 2023, which will see him develop through the team’s talent pipeline with the overarching aim to help drivers progress towards Formula 1, IndyCar and Formula E.
