WFG Finals | Day 1

Watch what our finalists got up to

WFG Finals | Day 1
WFG Finals | Day 1

Day 1 of the World’s Fastest Gamer Finals saw our finalists go through a series of cognitive and physical tests courtesy of the human performance experts at McLaren Applied Technologies, as well as a tour of the McLaren Technology Centre, and paid a visit to our Super-Sim.

The cognitive tests included saw the finalists complete multiple tasks in quick succession. This measures their ability to capture and process information quickly and accurately, which forms a crucial part of the sim driver's role as they need to relay important information about the car’s performance to the sim engineers.

Our finalists were also put under the microscope, literally, as the human performance team used visual perception tests to track eye movement and reaction times by the millisecond while completing laps on a gaming rig.

The physical tests included neck strength and conditioning exercises to measure how our finalists will cope with the forces experienced in the sim. Neck extension exercises will help with sharp braking forces, whereas lateral neck exercises will prepare them for those heavy cornering forces.

Our finalists will compete in the first race on iRacing around the Interlagos circuit on Day 2 of the World’s Fastest Gamer Finals.
