Getting to know: Kristian Kwietniewski
Find out more about our Logitech G Challenge qualifier
During Paris Games Week, we found another one of our eight qualifiers heading to the McLaren Shadow semi-final.
Kristian Kwietniewski out-performed his rivals on Project Cars 2 at the Logitech G Challenge to earn his spot in the competition.
Now, the 25-year-old will travel to the UK for the first time this weekend to compete for a place in the Grand Final.
Learn a little bit more about the professional sim driver below.
What’s your favourite type of car to race online?
I like to run with GT cars, because with this type of car you have very equal and fun fights.
What’s your favourite racing game?
I have always liked iRacing and rFactor2, because they are the most complete simulators - what more can be like the reality given to their physics and immersion when driving?

Favourite non-racing game?
Rocket League, Dead By Daylight and League Of Legends. I usually play these games when I rest from the simulator or I have free time.
Favourite (real-life) racing driver?
Fernando Alonso.
Favourite (real-life) race track?
Nürburgring Nordschlife.
What does McLaren mean to you?
For me it is a manufacturer of high performance cars that has an impressive heritage. I also think of Ayrton Senna. I would love to see the MP4/4 in reality.
Any tips for other esports competition hopefuls?
That they trust in themselves. The perfect example is my victory at the European Logitech G Challenge. I arrived at Paris with the feeling of being the least favourite driver on the grid, since I don’t usually play Project Cars because of lack of time - and I could only train for one day! But when you win the first race and start believing in yourself and that you can do it, it's when you can get the best out of yourself.

What does gaming mean to you?
When I started playing it was simply for pure fun and entertainment with friends. But it has been moving so fast that now I can now think of it as a job. And thanks to that, I can take part in competitions as spectacular as McLaren Shadow. This is making my dreams come true, because mine is to live and be happy as a pilot.
When you’re not working/gaming, what are you doing?
Enjoying free time with my girlfriend. We love travelling, going to the cinema, playing sports, going to the gym together... I also love to drive my car, go for road trips and enjoy the scenery.
