Everything you need to know for the 2021 F1 Esports Series
"We're well prepared and confident going into Event 1"
The 2021 F1 Esports Series is back, and McLaren Shadow is ready to get behind the virtual wheel once again.
This season we'll see new faces, old rivals, and there are plenty of unanswered questions that will make the autumn and winter series one to remember!
With our stunning new Shadow Studio at McLaren Technology Centre, we're more prepared than ever.
The team
One of two teams with an entirely new line-up, McLaren Shadow will run 2018 vice-champion Dani Bereznay in 2021. Truly a household name in F1 Esports, Dani has done just about everything except win the title in the series.Â
The ultra-quick Bari Boroumand joins the team, along with Josh Idowu, who was one of the stand-out performers at the 2021 Pro Exhibition. This exciting trio will be interesting to watch and are aiming to finish higher than our sixth-place finish in 2020.
The rules
- The season will include a 12-round championship made up of four online events featuring three races
- Races will run at a distance of 35%
- The cars will be a full car set-upÂ
- Two drivers from the roster may compete each round, but drivers can be swapped between rounds
- Minimum one pit-stop is required
- Two tyre compounds must be used

The drivers
Dani Bereznay
"It's tricky to stay competitive in the official Formula 1 game, as it changes every year as it gets closer and closer to real life. This is a challenge everyone needs to face. We need to find the best car settings again and send it 100% of the time! I have prepared the best I could this year to represent McLaren Shadow in the best possible way."
Bari Broumand
"Preparation for the season has been great. A big thank you to the team for making everything much easier and helping me to come to another country and sorting out every problem! We're looking forward to challenging in both the Drivers' and Consructors' Championship."
Josh Idowu
"After my promotion from the McLaren Shadow Academy, I'm super excited to get going and prove myself in the upcoming F1 Esports Pro Championship. We're well prepared and confident going into Event 1 and believe that we can be competitive in the Drivers' and Constructors' Championship."
