Sam

“I’m looking forward to going racing in Monaco this weekend. Everybody has been working hard since Misano, making sure we are in the best shape possible. All drivers love racing in Monaco, myself included, and I’ve had some decent results there in the past. NEOM McLaren also performed strongly there last year, especially in Qualifying. I’m extremely excited to get going and showcase what we can do out there.”

Jake

“Next up is Monaco, a track every driver looks forward to, and I can’t wait. It’ll be my third time competing there, and my second with the NEOM McLaren Formula E Team. Last year, I secured pole position, and I’m coming into this round off the back of my latest pole position in Misano, last time out. Both good omens, so I’m looking forward to hopefully putting on a good show for everyone. We’re aiming to be towards the top end of the field again and chasing some good points.”

Ian James

“This weekend the team will be taking on the challenge of the streets of Monaco. Monaco, steeped in heritage, is always a special place for motorsport enthusiasts, and a location we thoroughly enjoy racing in.

“We’re coming to Monaco off the back of a challenging weekend in Misano. This season, we’ve shown that we have strong single-lap pace and we also have the ability to convert this into strong race results. We now need to do this consistently. Monaco provides us with a great opportunity to show what the team is capable of.

“During this busy part of the season, the team has been working hard to keep a focus on Operational Excellence. We now need strong execution in each and every session.

“I can’t wait for the opportunity to get back on track this weekend and show what we’re capable of.”

Misano

Last time out

It was a weekend of mixed fortune at the double-header in Misano. Round 6 was difficult for the team, despite having a solid qualifying performance, due to a penalty putting Jake to the back of the grid and Sam suffering a DNF. Jake and Sam put in another strong qualifying performance in Round 7, with Jake claiming pole position. A tough race meant the team walked away with a handful of points but feeling ready to fight back in Monaco.

After challenging race weekends in Misano and Tokyo, the team heads to the Monaco E-Prix, where Jake had rapid single-lap pace last year and secured pole position. The NEOM McLaren Formula E Team are currently seventh in the standings with 63 points.
