ReLIVE the Chinese GP
ReLIVE the action from today's 2013 Formula 1 UBS Chinese Grand Prix, brought to you as it happened through McLaren LIVE:
On the Grid
It's a warm afternoon in Shanghai with track temperatures up around 37°C.
Jenson is the lead runner on the medium compound Prime tyre in P8. This is going to be a very tactical afternoon.
Checo also on the Prime compound with a mix of medium and soft runners around him.
The grid is forming up… And we are GO!
Race Start
Jenson holds P8 at the start, Checo drops to P13.
WEB made an early stop to get rid of his Option tyres – we're expecting a round of early stops to begin shortly for others to do the same.
Lap 4
Jenson radio talk: "OK Jenson, you were eight-tenths faster than HAM on that lap."
Lap 7
Checo radio talk: "Yellows all down the straight – do not use DRS.
The leaderboard is ticking like an abacus as the front runners get rid of their fragile Option tyres.
Lap 8
Checo radio talk: "OK Checo, track is clear now, DRS is OK to use.
All the Option runners have pitted now, we're currently P5, all the cars in front are on Primes.
Lap 10
The top ten with 10 laps gone: HUL leads from VET, Jenson, Checo, DIR, ALO, HAM, VER, RAI BOT. Lots of different strategies in play today.
The chasing pack are closing on the leaders at around a second a lap on their newer Primes.
Lap 13
Jenson is 3.6s behind VET and 3.6s ahead of Checo. With clear air he's discussing the car's balance with his engineers.
Lap 14
Car behind is now ALO. He's passed the cars who started on Primes. He is a quick car.
Checo loses P4 to ALO on the start-finish straight.
Lap 15
Cars in front of Jenson pit
Jenson radio talk: "OK Jenson, you are now leading the race. Car behind is ALO."
Lap 16
Checo radio talk: "One of the Lotuses just hit me!"
Checo's contact was with RAI at turn 6 as they battled over fourth.
Checo radio talk: "Everything feels the same."
Lap 18
The problem at turn 14 is WEB parked on the inside verge with a wheel off. It's in a difficult place to move.
Jenson radio talk: "We need to look after these tyres, keep going, you're doing well."
Lap 20
The order on lap 20: Jenson leads from ALO, HAM, RAI, Checo, VET, HUL, MAS, GRO, RIC.
Lap 21
ALO neatly passes Jenson opposite the pits to take the lead of the Chinese Grand Prix.
Jenson radio talk: "We need to push now, push now."
Meanwhile Checo falls to P7 with the early stoppers finally catching him.
Lap 22
…and Checo back up to P5 as the early stoppers begin stopping again.
Lap 24
Crew into the pitlane for Jenson!
Jenson radio talk: "We're racing GRO at the exit, we need this free air!"
That was a smooth stop and more prime tyres for Jenson.
Lap 25
Checo in and takes on a set of the Option tyres!
Checo radio talk: "We could be racing cars on the exit."
Lap 26
There's some very busy sections of track with tight battles everywhere. After those stops Jenson is P4 and Checo P10. Jenson radio talk: "How many laps does the Mercedes have on its tyres?"
Jenson radio talk: "Two laps more than us, they are five laps old. We want you to fight."
Lap 29
Checo using the pace in his Option tyres to make ground on the cars behind him.
Jenson passed by HAM for P4. This circuit shows up the power of DRS better than any other.
Lap 31
Jenson slips behind a hard-charging RAI into P5.
Lap 32
Checo radio talk: "Box, box."
Checo makes a seamless stop, takes on a set of Prime tyres and hammers out of the pitbox.
After that stop Checo has dropped down to P13.
Lap 35
The order on lap 35 is ALO leading from HAM, RAI, Jenson, VET, HUL, MAS, RIC, GRO, VER.
Large pace differentials between the front runners now as the different strategies make it a mathematical race. 1m40s up to 1m43s.
Lap 40
Jenson the only runner to have stopped only once. He has the two-stopped VET 5s in front and the three-stopped RAI 6s behind.
Lap 43
Jenson radio talk: "We are racing VET. RAI and HAM are behind. We are not racing them."
Lap 44
Jenson slips back to P5 as RAI and HAM sweep by on their new tyres.
Lap 46

Lap 50
Jenson radio talk: "Box this lap, box this lap."
Jenson radio talk: "Should be a clear track at the exit, you are racing MAS."
Good stop for Jenson, he takes on his set of Option tyres with six laps to go.
Lap 51
Jenson passes MAS on the back straight, that puts him up to P6.
Jenson radio talk: "Car in front is CHI, he's a back-marker. In front of him is DIR. He has to stop again. You just need to hold off MAS."
Lap 53
Three laps to go. Tight battles between RAI and HAM for P2, Jenson and MAS, currently for P6, GRO and HUL for P10.
Lap 54
DIR stops, Jenson retakes P5.
Gap to MAS 2.5s.
Lap 56
Jenson radio talk: "OK Jenson, you are now on the last lap, your tyres are good."
Checo radio talk: "OK Checo, good 10s gap to VER behind, look after the tyres, look out for flat spots on this last lap."
Chequered Flag
FINAL ORDER: ALO, RAI, HAM, VET, Jenson, MAS, RIC, DIR, GRO, HUL. Checo P11.
Jenson radio talk: "OK Jenson, great drive P5. Not everything we hoped for but great drive. Normal procedures, Box this lap."
Checo radio talk: "It won't take much from here to get into the points in Bahrain. Just a little bit of fine tuning."
