
Nick Snyder
Performance Director, Arrow McLaren
Nick Snyder is Performance Director for the Arrow McLaren IndyCar Team and race strategist for the No. 5 Arrow McLaren Chevrolet and Pato O’Ward. Since joining the team as IndyCar Race Engineer for Sam Schmidt Motorsports in 2011, Nick has managed the growing engineering department from a one-car team to the three-car team it is today, leading the team’s testing strategy and efforts as well as orchestrating the engineering outputs from these sessions, ranging from aerodynamics to software systems.
Nick made his entry into motorsports interning for various NTT INDYCAR SERIES and Champ Car teams throughout his undergraduate years at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. While finishing his Master of Science degree at Rose-Hulman, he began working full time as Race Engineer for Team Apex Racing USA in the Formula BMW series. Nick progressed from there to Race Engineer at Walker Racer in the Atlantic Series, then Andretti Autosport as an assistant engineer and race engineer in the NTT INDYCAR SERIES and A1GP prior to joining Sam Schmidt Motorsports. Born and raised in Indianapolis, Nick’s career highlights have been winning the inaugural Indy Grand Prix with Simon Pagenaud in 2014, as well as winning pole for the Indianapolis 500 with James Hinchcliffe in 2016.
